18 MAY is Jack Johnson's Birthday

Jack Hody Johnson is an American singer-songwriter, filmmaker, and former professional surfer. Johnson is known primarily for his work in the soft rock and acoustic pop genres. In 2001, he achieved commercial success after the release of his debut album, Brushfire Fairytales.

Johnson has reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart with his albums Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George in 2006, Sleep Through the Static in 2008, To the Sea in 2010 and From Here to Now to You in 2013. His album In Between Dreams peaked at number two on the chart in 2005 and again in 2013.

30 MAY is Benny Goodman's Birthday

Benjamin David Goodman was an American jazz clarinetist and bandleader known as the "King of Swing".

From 1936 until the mid-1940s, Goodman led one of the most popular swing big bands in the United States. His concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on January 16, 1938, is described by critic Bruce Eder as "the single most important jazz or popular music concert in history: jazz's 'coming out' party to the world of 'respectable' music."

Thomas Emmanuel is an Australian guitarist, songwriter, and singer known for his complex fingerstyle technique, energetic performances, and percussive effects on the guitar.

In 2011, Emmanuel was inducted into the Australian Roll of Renown for his significant and lasting contribution to country music.
